How to get Lidl delivered
Lidl has no delivery vans of its own, so here are the three ways people actually get their Lidl shopping home, starting with the quickest.
The three ways, in order
Try a delivery app first
Deliveroo carries a good number of Lidl stores, and Uber Eats has some too. Open the app, put in your postcode and look for Lidl. If it shows up, you are sorted, and it is usually with you inside the hour.
You pick from what the store has that day, so it works best for a top up shop: milk, bread, fruit, something for tea.
Ask someone local
This is the one most people forget, and it is often the best. Someone nearby does your shop properly, the full trolley, and drops it at your door at a time that suits you.
You agree the fee before they set off and pay when it arrives. Taskerama is a good place to find someone. Taskerama is run by the same people as this site, so we would say nice things about it. Have a look and make your own mind up.
Order from Lidl online
Lidl runs an online shop for the things that are not food, and wine by the case. That comes by post to any address in the country.
It will not do your weekly food shop, but it is ideal when the middle aisle has something you want. Have a look at what Lidl sells.
Which one should you pick?
Need it today? Try an app. If Lidl comes up for your postcode, nothing is quicker.
Want a proper weekly shop? Ask someone local. They can walk the whole store, pick fresh things properly and carry more than a rider can.
Cannot get out much? A local helper is worth their weight in gold. Many people set up the same person every week, which means someone reliable turning up who knows what you like.
After something from the middle aisle? That is the Lidl website.
A few things worth knowing
Prices in a delivery app are often a bit higher than the shelf price in store, and there will be a delivery fee and a service charge on top. It is still good value for a small shop, but it is worth knowing before you order.
Delivery areas change all the time as more riders join. If Lidl did not show up for your postcode a few months ago, it is well worth another look.
If you are ordering for someone else, put their phone number on the order. It saves a lot of bother at the door.
