Getting the best of it
For a small top up, an app is hard to beat. The fees are modest and it is with you quickly.
For a big shop, the sums change. A few pounds of fees on a large trolley is excellent value, and this is where a local helper shines, because they can bring the lot in one go rather than what fits in a rider bag.
If you order every week, it is worth finding one person you get on with and sticking with them. You will often agree a better price, and they will get to know what you like.
Fees change and offers come and go, so treat these as a guide rather than a promise. The app or the person doing your shop will always show you the total before you agree to it.
